Statement
Ironic, provocative views are opened up onto urban landscapes. Licensed photographs of buildings and districts are “oversculpted” with colored wooden stripes or styrofoam/wood blocks. Beyond the constructivism stylistic elements of the symbolism become apparent, whose visual ambiguity leaves scope for stimulating associations.
My “oversculpting” is inspired by Arnulf Rainer’s and Gerhard Richter’s “overpainting” of portraits. The partly chaotic composition in my oversculpting shows the influence of Arne Quinze’s “natural- chaos-installations”.
